Mai Al Busairi
Mai Al Busairi is a creative architect and an inspiring leader. She is the principal architect and founder of Parallel Studio. She is active in the local and international design community, as she was head creative in Imagined Shared Territory in La Biennale di Venezia-2014, a design member of the Kuwaiti pavilion in La Biennale di Venezia-2016, and featured Solitary an art installation in Dubai Design week-2018. Mai has been involved in the design and fabrication of architectural pavilions in Kuwait, Barcelona, and Los Angeles, demonstrating digital fabrication tools and computational workflows. She has taught a number of design/ architecture workshops and organized over 20 workshops.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in architecture from Kuwait University College of Architecture. She is also certified in architectural Programs from SCI-Arc Los Angeles, and the Institute for advanced architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), Spain.

Barrak Darweesh
Barrak Darweesh is an architect, designer, maker and researcher in the fields of computational design, additive manufacturing, and digital fabrication. As an architect and designer, he explores the context and potential of architectural scale additive manufacturing and robotic construction, while incorporating social performance. Barrak has worked at the MIT Media lab, as a researcher in the Mediated Matter group on world class projects. Prior to joining the MIT Media lab, Barrak worked as a researcher at Emerging Objects, a lab dedicated to research in 3D print and advanced material explorations for additive manufacturing. Barrak holds a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley and is currently enrolled in the PhD program. Barrak has taught a number of design classes at UC Berkeley MIT, and the Pilchuck glass school.
